The does available in the ADGA/4H – Show list are does that we feel will do well in a show ring based on the genetics and conformation. Performance herds & families that show will get preference to these does. We would love to see these does in milk in the future as it provides great feedback to us as a breeder when we can see the improvements in the bloodlines of our herd. Nixie is just about 2 years old doe and although she is quite lovely, she’s not quite what we’re breeding for. This year, she happens to be on the bump spot and she will be offered for sale in Fall 2023. She has a lovely mammary that will only improve with lactations and she does bring some ELITE genetics to the table so if you’re looking to breed up. She’s quite a catch!!

We would like to retain Nixie through the next few months so that she can earn her milk star on ADGA milk testing. In the fall, she would be available in milk, dry, or even bred to one of our bucks for an additional stud service fee.

Bailey’s came to us in the fall last year with her daughter Mavis. She’s quite small in size, much smaller than our other Nigerians. After going through a breeding season with her, we don’t wish to keep breeding her. We like our goats a bit bigger. We did have to pull kids this year and struggled to fit inside between her hip bones. Not that she’ll have issues in the future as she did have 2 kiddings prior to coming here that were completely unassisted. We just ended up having quints in there and they were quite tangled and needed some help. Bailey’s had a pretty rough delivery but she’s doing fine now. I hate to put her through that again here. Ideally, I’d love to see her go to a performance home where she can continue to produce beautiful kids. She would need to have someone with smaller hands to be able to assist or be willing to work with a vet that can assist. She also has the option of just being loved as a pet. She’s a sweet goat and easy to handle.
We would hope to dry off Bailey’s once her buckling is weaned but an experienced goat owner could continue to milk her. She is lopsided as the buckling continues to primarily nurse from one side. We’ve tried to even her out but he’s consuming more milk on the one side than we can get out in a 12hr period on the other. We likely didn’t keep up enough on the one side when she first kidded but she had a rough delivery and needed some well deserved rest. So, that along with the single huge buckling has created the lopsided situation we’re currently in. She’ll be back to normal with her next freshening, no doubt.
As a daughter of Better Wayz Hammer in the Sky *B and Better Wayz Chocolate Martini VVVE89 5*M, Bailey’s brings some exciting genetics with her to better your herd. Her mammary is lovely and super well attached with one of the most beautiful foreudder’s we’ve seen from Hammer in the Sky. She’s just a very small goat, measuring 18.6″ officially. She’s got excellent rear udder height (38) Udder depth (37), Teat Diameter (32) and Teat Length (29). Quite impressive for being so small.

They will be sold as unregistered goats and if not already castrated, will require castration after 12 weeks of age. Depending on the timing of the wethers leaving our farm, castration will be available at buyer’s expense. Estimated cost is $30 + farm call ($80-$100). If possible we can split the farm call cost if we have the vet out for additional services. You also have the option to have your own vet complete the castration at your farm and at your expense.
